Aven is a Bible app for daily verses, widgets, and verse customization. It is developed and operated by Cansu Eroğlu, an individual developer based in Türkiye ("we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Aven. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Aven.
The short version
- Aven is for your personal, non-commercial use.
- Subscriptions are billed by Apple and renew automatically until you cancel in your App Store settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple.
- Aven is a tool for reading and sharing Scripture. It is not pastoral, medical, or mental-health advice.
1Using Aven
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Aven on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Aven. If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian, in particular before buying a subscription.
Aven does not require an account.
2Subscriptions and purchases
Some features of Aven are free. Others require a paid subscription. The price, the length of each subscription period, and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a free trial is offered, it turns into a paid subscription when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Purchases are processed by Apple, and we cannot issue refunds ourselves. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Prices may differ by country and may change. Apple will tell you about a price change before it applies to you.
Nothing in these terms limits a refund or withdrawal right you have under the consumer laws of your country.
3Bible texts
The Bible translations in Aven are public-domain texts or texts made available under open licenses. We claim no ownership of them. The following require attribution:
- Bíblia Livre — Copyright © 2018 Diego Santos, Mario Sérgio, e Marco Teles. Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.
- Biblica® Open Nova Bíblia Viva™ — Copyright © 2007, 2010 by Biblica, Inc. "Biblica" is a trademark registered in the United States Patent and Trademark Office by Biblica, Inc. Used with permission. The original work is available for free at www.biblica.com and open.bible. Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0.

We work to keep the texts accurate, but mistakes can happen. If you find one, please tell us.
4Not professional advice
Aven helps you read, display, and share Scripture. Its verse selections, moods, and reminders are offered for personal reflection. They are not pastoral counselling, and they are not medical or mental-health advice. If you are in crisis or think you may harm yourself or others, please contact your local emergency services.
5What you may not do
- Copy, sell, rent, or redistribute Aven or its artwork, themes, or design.
- Reverse engineer or modify the app, except where the law gives you that right.
- Get around paid features or subscription checks.
- Interfere with, overload, or misuse the servers Aven relies on.
- Use Aven in a way that breaks the law.
6Ownership and sharing
The app, its design, code, artwork, themes, icon, and the name "Aven" belong to us or to our licensors. These terms give you a license to use the app, not ownership of it. The Bible texts are covered by section 3.
You are welcome to share the verse images you create in Aven for personal, non-commercial purposes. You are responsible for where and how you share them.
7Reminders and availability
Daily reminders are delivered through Apple's notification service and depend on your device settings and your connection. We cannot guarantee that every reminder arrives, or arrives at an exact time.
Bible reading works offline. Downloading additional themes needs an internet connection.
We may change, add, or remove features, and we may stop offering Aven. If a change removes something you paid for, your options for a refund are handled through Apple and the consumer laws of your country.
8Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information Aven handles. It is part of these terms.
9No warranty
To the extent the law allows, Aven is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted or free of errors.
10Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of Aven. Our total liability for any claim relating to Aven is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Aven in the twelve months before the claim, or 50 US dollars.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, and your mandatory rights as a consumer are not affected.
11Ending these terms
You can stop using Aven at any time by deleting the app. Remember to cancel any subscription separately in your App Store settings.
If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may end your license to use Aven.
12Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. If you keep using Aven after an update, you accept the updated terms.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.
If a part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
14Apple
You downloaded Aven from Apple's App Store, so the following also applies:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Aven and its content.
- Your license is limited to using Aven on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Aven may also be used by other accounts through Family Sharing.
- We are solely responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide either.
- If Aven fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Aven.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims about Aven, including product liability claims, claims that Aven does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law.
- If someone claims that Aven infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for handling that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country under a United States Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on a United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use Aven, such as your mobile data agreement.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
